July
In July we saw the release of the Tuff Anti Trip Foot the fourth in the series of our Barrier Feet. The Tuff Foot and the Tuff Anti-Trip Foot are compatible with the Olympic, Tuff, and Vision barriers from Melba Swintex.
August
During August, we announced the launch of the New Utility Barrier onto the Traffic Management market. The Utility Barrier comes in either a 750mm or a 1m version. This has been our most successful product launch to date, meaning investment in more tooling to keep up with demand within a month of launch. Colour coding and embossing flexibility gives us a huge edge on the competition.
September
Melba Swintex gets the Kitemark for its entire range of cones. This mark of quality is now branded on our products and means you can expect top quality every time. We are the only company in the UK with Kitemarked cones.
October
In October we sneakily hinted at a new bin in our Litterbin range. We are pleased to say it has now been launched, and the Darcy Litterbin is our first Keyless Bin in the range.
November
Melba Swintex were proud to announce in November that the new Utility Barrier that hit the market just under a few months ago, has been officially approved for use by Openreach, a BT Business Group.
December
Our Safety Utility Barrier nicknamed the Buzz Barrier has now hit the American market and has proved a huge success, and no doubt will be as popular on that side of the pond as it it is on this one.
During the past few months, Melba Swintex has had its Traffic Cone range put through tough and vigorous testing. These tests have been conducted by BSI, the national standards body of the United Kingdom, to the technical standards set out within their publications, these of which are recognised globally as the definition and guidelines of all Temporary Traffic Cones. Its now official we have the BSI Kitemark™ for our range of cones.
Stamp of Approval
The entire Traffic Cone range will now be stamped with the well-recognised Kitemark™ symbol. This stamp of approval that has been granted by an externally certified accreditor, is not offered by any other Traffic Cone manufacturer.

Keep it Real – Make it Melba Swintex
Melba Swintex has always had pride in the quality of its products, and has become recognised as the royal brand of Temporary Traffic Management. Now with the approval of an externally certified body, you can trust that the Melba Swintex Cone range will always get the job done.
As the standards published by the BSI are publicly available, any company can state claims of compliance to a standard for their product. However, these claims are often not validated by an independent organisation.
The Kitemark™ on the Melba Swintex Cone range gives you the complete reassurance that it is regularly tested by BSI and meets the requirements of the standard.
Relying on suppliers of the all metal Phoenix resulted in longer lead times, therefore we are moving away from the use of metal, and will focus on a completely plastic Litter Bin range.
Manufacture Local
All of the Melba Swintex Litter Bin Range is now manufactured on site, and are available in a wide selection of colours. Company Branding can also be included on the each product.
There will soon be a new member to the Litter Bin Range, so keep an eye out for it!

January
Precisely 12 months from the its launch in 2015, the Tuff Trench was supplied with a bonus feature – The New Anti-Slip Rubber Pads that can be securely fixed to the underside of the Tuff Trench to prevent movement under windy conditions.
February
During February, the New Tuff Foot was released onto the Traffic Management market. The stylistic design supplies a hefty 10kgs to each barrier, resulting in greater wind resistance on the Melba Swintex Barrier range.
March
The Postman system made its way onto our customer’s doorsteps. The system has proved to be a great success due to increasing demand & demanding lead times on the market. The Postman takes the current temporary barrier system within utility works, and updates it by implementing a range of innovative features & increasing its strength and durability.
April
We caught a short flight over to Amsterdam for a week to showcase at the Intertraffic Exhibition. This event allowed us to network into areas we had previously never ventured, and opened up doors to new opportunities, and friendships. This also allowed us to speak to consumers one-to-one and get feedback on our services.
May
The Fantastic Four was born with the addition to the Barrier Foot family with the New Tuff-AT Foot. This great new foot satisfies both the needs of extra weight, and reducing the risk of a trip hazard when on site. The foot also has a little trick up its sleeve – the possibility to emboss with corporate branding, putting your name in the spotlight.
June
‘You’re my Wonderwall’ was the phrase that was stuck in the heads of everyone here in the office. The WonderWall™ Barrier was released once again due to increasing interest and demanding lead times. The product has been a huge success and continues to impress.

The upper area of the Utility Barrier has been designed with an increased area for Highly Reflective material, making the Barrier fully equipped for the European market. Locating Lugs are incorporated onto the Barrier so that the Reflective material is not damaged when the Barrier is stacked.

The Utility Barrier comes in either a 750mm version, or a 1Mtr version, giving you ultimate choice for your Utility works. As well as this, each panel can be branded on both the Front & Back with a corporate logo or name. The Barrier can be manufactured in any specified colour, giving you the ultimate customisation.

Introducing the New Tuff-AT Foot.
In the world of Barrier feet, the Terrifying Trio have dominated the market, but now, they have a new member – Welcome to The Fantastic Four.
The New Tuff-AntiTrip Foot
The New Tuff-AT provides extra weight onto each barrier, weighing in at just under 5Kg each. This great new foot satisfies both the needs of extra weight, and reducing the risk of a trip hazard when on site. The foot also has a little trick up its sleeve – the possibility to emboss with corporate branding, putting your name in the spotlight. The Tuff-AT is compatible with the Olympic, Tuff, and Vision barriers from Melba Swintex.
The Rest of the Cast
Although it isn’t the focus of attention right now, the Standard Foot is still regarded as the Lead Actor, and is still classed as the most popular Barrier Foot to date. The original foot, weighing in at 2.8Kgs, is compatible will the entire Melba Swintex range of Barriers.
Still Fresh – the Anti-Trip Foot
Still a relative newcomer onto the scene, the Anti-Trip Foot can already be seen in the open world. It is a product that has customers falling over themselves to get their hands on. It’s 2.1Kgs in weight and compatible with every single Barrier in the Melba Swintex range.
It’s a Knockout!
Currently the big daddy of the Barrier Foot world, the Tuff Foot weighs in at 5Kgs each and boasts tremendous strength and quality. Only time will tell if the Tuff-AT Foot will rule the roost, especially with that fabulous new embossing area. The Tuff Foot is compatible with the Olympic, Tuff and Vision Barriers from Melba Swintex.

The New 250mm High Reflective Vision Barrier made for the European Market

Introducing the new reflectively enhanced Barrier system with a depth of 250mm retroreflective area. The Vision Barrier can connect to either itself or other existing barriers using the various attachment methods on offer.
Why 250mm?
Various Standards in many European countries specify a depth of a minimum of 250mm for the top reflective area, and why not have a more reflective product? It’s safer for everyone. The spindles can even be made reflective for extra, extra visibility.
