Traffic Barrier Weights beat Stormy Weather!

If your road looked like this, this morning… it’s time for the Road Rock – our new traffic barrier weight.

The Road Rock is primarily designed to be a traffic barrier weight which is a ballast for our range of traffic barriers and fits the Gate, Master, Vision, Olympic and Tuff Barriers. Using two Road Rocks per barrier, or one when the barriers are in a boxed formation will make the barrier pass Class B Wind Speed Legislation (this is now mandatory in Scotland where barriers are left unattended for over 24 hours). However the Road Rock has a few surprises up its sleeve…

Huge Stability in Strong Winds

At 7.5kgs each the Road Rock can help protect you against barriers being uprooted by the winds. This can prevent damage to property and persons and potential litigation.

Traffic Barrier Weight

Wind Speed.

A minimum of 30Kg is needed for a barrier to withstand Class B Wind Speeds (17.6 m/s). At 15Kgs each, the Road Rock provides the precise weight needed, every time, to withstand these wind speeds.

The Road Rock has a couple of other features as well.

The Road Rock has a nose to tail link similar to that seen on the Road Runner, this makes it possible to create a continuous run and implement the base as a delineator. A cavity within the centre of the Road Rock permits a twist-to-lock cylinder to be attached.

The Road Rock also has the ability to be embossed with a corporate logo, the design enables the base to stack, and at 15Kg in weight, the Road Rock is manufactured from 100% recycled PVC, which is also 100% recyclable.

Available in three sizes – 25kgs, 18kgs and 13kgs.

The Tuff Fencing Foot

A one piece compression moulded base, manufactured from recycled material. The base is completely recyclable, boasting high durability and strength. The product is a single man lift, with specially designed handles either side, which allows carrying with ease.

Temporary Fencing Feet ensure the safety and stability of fencing panels and are an essential requirement when assembling a temporary metal fencing system.

It is essential that temporary fencing has a strong base, as although your system will only be installed for a short period of time, it will still need to withstand high winds and possible tampering.

It features six holes which the panels can easily be fit into and the holes are also suitable for vehicle gates. They are an excellent component for the steel hoarding system.

The fencing feet makes a robust, shock proof product which will last much longer than a traditional concrete block. Its innovative design makes it easy to carry and handle.
This product is 100% recyclable.

Colours Available

Fencing feet can be embossed and painted in full which is great for stopping theft as they can be easily identified, or for a money saving alternative – the ends can be colour coated (known as tipping – see image below).

The new Boss Barrier used for Crowd Control Barriers and Event Management is now being ordered embossed and coloured, as well as in standard grey. Identification of product is a key reason to order the Boss Barrier compared to the standard metal crowd control barriers which are expensive to emboss and to powder coat. With the barrier taking off in the UK and enquiries from as far afield as Malta and Singapore, it looks like we’ll need the barriers to keep our crowds of customers back ! Melba Swintex will be at Traffex this year.

Traffex returns to Hall 5 at the NEC Birmingham on the 21 – 23 April, 2015, and is set to be the most important event for the international traffic management, road safety, parking, road maintenance and transport infrastructure industries.  Melba Swintex will be showcasing their products, such as the new Boss Barrier, and the Tuff Trench cover.

As hard as it is to escape the office, your time invested in Traffex will be time well spent. Introducing the new Tuff Trench from Melba Swintex. The Tuff Trench is the first ever blow moulded Trench Cover, resulting in amazing strength, and the ability to withstand high impacts without any sign of integrity failure.  
  • 4 fixing holes. Can be bolted to the ground.
  • Can be fitted with reflective bands.
  • Anti-Slip pattern.
  • Designed with Anti-Trip edges.
  • Able to withstand over 400Kgs.

What it Does.

The Tuff Trench covers excavations of up to 700mm in width, providing a safe pathway for the general public.

Ease of Use.

Handles have been incorporated into the design, resulting in an easy-to-carry product. The cover is a single man lift due to it’s low-in-weight design.

Fixing.

Four bolt holes are situated in each corner so that the cover can be securely fastened to the pathway with the bolts supplied. The board also incorporates the possibility of using bitumen padding.

The cover can withstand over 400kg loads, and has a high impact resistance. Strong, durable and able to protect open areas on a footpath. Manufactured from 100% virgin material and 100% recyclable.
